چکیده

Electromechanical metamaterials have been the focus of many recent studies for use in simultaneous energy harvesting and vibration control. Metamaterials with quasiperiodic patterns possess useful topological properties that make them a good candidate study. However, it is currently unknown what effect electromechanical coupling may on bandgaps localized edge modes metamaterial. In this paper, we study metamaterial resonators to investigate its modes. We derive here analytical dispersion surfaces proposed A semi-infinite system also simulated numerically validate results show band structure different patterns, load resistors, coefficients. The nature detailed through an estimation integrated density states. Furthermore, presence determined numerical simulation harvested from system. indicate can be used effective without changes bandgap topology weak coupling.

Method for retrieving effective properties of locally resonant acoustic metamaterials

Acoustic metamaterials can be described by effective material properties such as mass density and modulus. We have developed a method to extract these effective properties from reflection and transmission coefficients, which can be measured experimentally. The dependency of effective properties on the positions of the boundaries of the acoustic metamaterial is discussed, and a proper procedure ...

Low frequency locally resonant metamaterials containing composite inclusions.

One main feature of metamaterials is the occurrence of a negative dynamic mass density that is produced when an inner local resonance is present. The inner resonance can be obtained in composite materials containing composite inclusions. For suitable ratios of the physical properties of the constituting materials, the composite inclusions act as spring-mass systems. The scaling of physical prop...

Harnessing buckling to design tunable locally resonant acoustic metamaterials.

We report a new class of tunable and switchable acoustic metamaterials comprising resonating units dispersed into an elastic matrix. Each resonator consists of a metallic core connected to the elastomeric matrix through elastic beams, whose buckling is intentionally exploited as a novel and effective approach to control the propagation of elastic waves. We first use numerical analysis to show t...

Effect of metal permittivity on resonant properties of terahertz metamaterials.

We investigate the effect of metal permittivity on resonant transmission of metamaterials by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. Our experimental results on double split-ring resonators made from different metals confirm the recent numerical simulations [Phys. Rev. E 65, 036622 (2002)] that metamaterials exhibit permittivity-dependent resonant properties. In the terahertz regime, the measured i...

The Effect of Bronchial Asthma on Interatrial Electromechanical Delay Coupling Obtained Using Tissue Doppler Imaging

Background: Asthma is a predisposing factor for the development of atrial fibrillation. Asthma disturbs the electrophysiology in the right and left atrium. The aim of this study was to evaluate atrial electromechanical delay by coupling obtained from tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) in children. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 50 patients with Bronchial Asthma, compared with 50 hea...
